What do you have to say about the practice of some towns trying to get homeless out of their areas by offering what have been called " Homeward Bound " bus tickets ?? Bluntly , they're " Get out of town , y'bum " tickets to somewhere , though allegedly more carefully investigate/claiming more concern for the recipient than my flippant method of describing them above may indicate ~ Tickets to another area that the homeless person has friend or family and a desire to go to . Those municipalities which do this claim to give some investigation before doing this , so as to not provide simply a " Get out of town ! " ticket on the 'Hound . Some people have expressed disapproval of this concept ~ However , some homeless have gone to places they wish to go , to find a new home situation , through this . People who receive such tickets generally sign an agreement to not return to the locality which granted them the tickets for a minimum six months , or thereabouts . To be blunt ~ I , at present , am seeking one here in Santa Cruz , to get to another town in another state (In the Pacific NW) where I have a friend , who has suggested I move there . It might be a door to an improved future than my present situation in Santa Cruz appears likely to lead to - If my application leads to a " yes " , perhaps I will accept it...I have little money , and I have been here too long , the free bus ticket could really make a difference:--...
