How about creating a list of places where people can sleep in peace? Where are the best places to hide out for a few hours of sleep? Lists of abandoned buildings with easy rooftop access, or back alleys with nooks that are covered from rain or snow. This is the type of information that could help a lot of people.

How about creating a list of places where people can sleep in peace? Where are the best places to hide out for a few hours of sleep? Lists of abandoned buildings with easy rooftop access, or back alleys with nooks that are covered from rain or snow. This is the type of information that could help a lot of people. That post is over a year old, and it's about California-wide events. This board is San Diego specific. As far as places to go, it is perfectly legal to sleep in any city park or on the beach during the day. In the downtown area, the Neil Good Day Center at 299 17th Street is another place you can rest your head during the day. Night time is a different thing. What most never-been-homeless folks fail to realize is that sleep deprivation is one of the homeless populations worst problems. They see you sleeping during the day, and think "What a bum", when the fact is it's really difficult to sleep at night, with one eye open for thieves and other criminals, with car and foot traffic passing right by you, and even in shelters, close neighbors are often noisy at night with snoring or playing with electronics.
